I am living proof that “the Sheku effect" is not just for young cellists.
He plays beautifully.
His story is inspiring.
And now, he is a market maker.
Recently he made in headlines for his new album, Elgar, being the first classical artist to break onto the Top 10 charts in the UK (based on sales) in 30 years.
Recorded with Simon Rattle and LSO, the recording includes pieces by Elgar, Bloch, Faure, Klengle.
My favorite is “Nimrod" from the Enigma Variations.
