IDEO + Kyu Collective
It has been two years since IDEO joined the Kyu Collective, owned by Hakuhodo DY Holdings.
IDEO is the legendary design and consulting firm that pioneered the "design thinking" methodology to imagine and realize new products, services and experiences.
It was founded in 1991 when Stanford University professor David Kelley and London-based design shop owner Bill Moggridge merged their interests.
Over time IDEO has become increasingly involved in management consulting and organization design.
IDEO employs people across a range of disciplines from Behavioral Science, to Communication Design, to Design Research, to Industrial Design, to Software Engineering.
The Kyu Collective is a "diverse group of creative companies committed to addressing significant challenges facing business and society."
In addition to IDEO, SYPartners is also a member.
The companies within the Kyu Collective are strategically selected and deliberately limited in number. Each company operates independently to drive positive impact in its own area of focus and specialization.
I believe this type of cooperation increases connections and is good for both the marketing/design industries in both Japan and America.
