Adobe 先生
In a recent Forrester evaluation of enterprise marketing software, Adobe was singled out as a “leader” in part for the aggressive rollout of artificial intelligence in its products.
Adobe’s AI is branded Adobe Sensei.
The Japanese name caught my attention.
As you probably know “sensei” / 先生 / means “teacher" in Japanese. The first character 先 means “before”. The second character 生 means “born”. So the Japanese word for teacher implies a before/after or younger/older dynamic in the teaching/learning relationship.
It’s a good name for the product because one of the things that makes AI AI is its ability to learn and improve independently.
So how does Adobe Sensei feature into the enterprise marketing products?
Here is how Adobe puts it in their own language:
The wants and needs of customers evolve quickly. Within Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe Sensei's machine learning crunches the numbers, helps you see how your customers behave, uses those insights to serve relevant and personalized experiences, and anticipates what they’ll want next. You’ll discover new look-alike audiences to approach and use predictive modeling to help you make better decisions.
Manage content and personalize campaigns.
Adobe Sensei adds metadata to assets, recommends offers, and generates shorter copy versions for different channels. So you can deliver exactly what customers want.
Never miss an insight with predictive analytics.
With features like anomaly detection, contribution analysis, and segment compare, Adobe Sensei acts as your 24x7 analyst, alerting you to what matters no matter where you are.
