Polyurethane
Yesterday I went to the Camper store in Soho to buy a new pair of shoe laces for my Peus.
The shop attendant told me something worth repeating.
The soles of these shoes seem to never wear down because they are made of polyurethane.
The same material that skateboard wheels are made of?
Kind-of an interesting product design insight, whoever made it.
Back to the shoe laces.
Why would someone want to put regular laces into a product whose central design point is an elastic lace that allows them to be slipped on and off without untying and tying?
Because straight-laced Campers suit me better.
Like Pablo Casals playing JS Bach's cello suites.
A little loose. A little tight. In the right places.
